Photography is just like building a wall and plastering it, and editing is putting putty and colour on it. A wall must be strong, symmetrical, and smooth for high-quality putty and vibrant colours to follow.
A balance of brick, sand, cement, gravel, and iron ensures a strong wall. Besides, the desired geometrical shape is to be achieved.
Further, putty smoothens the wall surface, turning it into a virtual canvas (though, literally, canvas is rough.) Then the play of colours and designs starts. An infinite variety can be created.
Likewise, before a photo is edited, it should be sharp, clear, well-exposed, and having the desired depth of field and kelvin value (image temperature). Next, it must be in the raw format called CR, i. e. Camera Raw. CR format offers plenty of room for minute processing of an image, thereby highlighting fine details.
Editing softwares with their countless tools give a free rein to the artist's imagination. They not only enhance the picture quality, but also they can pick elements out of different images and assemble them in more creative ways.
Photography is one of the greatest visual arts. It helps us capture our most beloved moments. Editing brightens those moments.
